The goal of the Health Economics course is to equip the learner with skills and knowledge necessary in efficient utilization of scarce resources for health care delivery.
Expected Learning Outcomes:
(i) Apply the main economic models used in economic analysis to solve problems in healthcare delivery
(ii) Evaluate health care financing functions and the burdens of disease in developing countries
(iii) Apply modelling and econometric tools needed to address health sector resource allocation
(iv) Apply health sector planning and budgeting functions within the health sector
(v) Analyse policies within the health sector
(vi) Evaluate and formulate appropriate health sector reforms
(vii) Identify and address cutting edge emerging issues in health economics and health care delivery in Kenya
(viii) Use analytical skills and develop a project paper
