The goal of the program is to produce competent personnel with analytical technical skills who will be able to design epidemiological research studies and apply statistical theory and methodology to solve HIV and health related problems.

Expected Learning Outcomes:

(i) Evaluate HIV healthcare systems

(ii) Quantify the occurrence of diseases and other health related events in populations

(iii) Apply appropriate statistical techniques in analyzing health related data

(iv) Interpret research results and make appropriate inferences based on properly analyzed results

(v) Design health surveillance system

(vi) Investigate health related outbreak occurrences

(vii) Apply epidemiology in scientific, ethical, economic and political issues.


Minimum Admission Requirements

Master’s degree in social or biological sciences with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of the University of Nairobi, or an equivalent qualification from another institution recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate and at least one year experience in the health sector. Any other equivalent qualification to the above from institutions recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate.
