The University of Nairobi Institute of Infectious Diseases (UNITID) is hosting the Epidemiological Modelling workshop for 5 days. The workshop begun on 8th April, 2019 and will end on 12th April, 2019.

The workshop explores the uses of mathematical models in describing past and future disease transmission and how these models can be applied in evaluating the effectiveness of disease control interventions and comparing policy options to reduce disease burden.

The participants are individuals with previous experience in modelling infectious diseases with backgrounds in health, statistics, applied mathematics, biology or public
health.

The course will cover the topics below:
• Modelling for fundamental insight into disease transmission
• Models for study design
• Structured model-based decision making
• Using models to infer impact of interventions
